After a two-year repair and maintenance project, Triple Crown by acclaimed sculptor Kenneth Snelson has been reinstalled in front of Crown Center’s 2600 Grand office building at the intersection of 27th Street and Grand Boulevard.

Triple Crown, which was commissioned by Hallmark Cards, Inc. and installed at Crown Center in 1991, was the largest and most complex sculpture Snelson had undertaken at that time. The work to repair the sculpture began in July 2019.  This sculpture is an intricate study of physics and form. Each of the three arches is composed of stainless steel tubes held together by tension.

Kenneth Snelson, the artist who created Triple Crown, died in 2016. He was best known for his structures made of highly polished cylinders and cables held aloftby a combination of tension and compression. Snelson's work is also exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Hirschhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden.
